Medication pouches are small, sealed packets containing the exact tablets or capsules you need to take at a specific time of day.
Instead of juggling multiple boxes or sorting pills into a weekly organiser, everything arrives ready to go. Each pouch is:
- Pre-sorted, with your medication listed on the label
- Clearly marked with the date and time it should be taken
- Double-checked for accuracy by our pharmacy team

Pill Roll is a modern alternative to traditional blister packs. Instead of organising medication into bulky blister packs, your tablets and capsules are sorted into individual sealed pouches. Each pouch is clearly labelled with the medications inside, together with the date and time they should be taken. Simply tear open the pouch and take your medication when it is due.
No. Unlike some pharmacies that charge for blister packs or medication compliance packaging, Pill Roll is currently provided free of charge. There are no setup fees, monthly fees or charges for the pouches. Normal HSE prescription charges still apply where applicable.
Many patients are moving from traditional blister packs to Pill Roll because it offers individual pouches for every dose, easy-to-read labelling, less clutter at home, greater convenience when travelling, support for carers and no Pill Roll service charge.
Pill Roll may be suitable if you take multiple medications every day, take medication at different times during the day, want a simpler medication routine, care for an elderly parent or relative, support someone with complex medication schedules, or want extra confidence when managing medication.
Yes. To prepare your Pill Roll medication pouches, Mark's Pharmacy must manage your prescriptions. Our team will handle the transfer process for you.
Most tablets and capsules can be included. Some medicines such as inhalers, eye drops, creams, ointments, liquid medicines, refrigerated medicines and certain specialist medications must remain in their original packaging.
Each pouch clearly shows the date, the time it should be taken, the medications contained inside and important identification information.
Follow the advice provided by your doctor, pharmacist or the patient information leaflet supplied with your medication. If unsure, contact the pharmacy before taking an additional dose.
